Dra. Supitcha Tovivich
Assistant Professor SUPITCHA TOVIVICH, Ph.D.
Dr. Supitcha is a full-time Lecturer at the Faculty of Architecture, Silpakorn University in Bangkok, Thailand. She was the Head of Department of Architecture during 2015-2018.
She holds MA. (Humanitarian and Development Practice) from Oxford Brookes University and received her Ph.D. (Planning Studies) from the Bartlett Development Planning Unit, University College London. Her research and practice lies in participatory design, community architecture, design catalyst, and urban design intervention. Her interest is to integrate design thinking, art, and architecture, with an aim to strengthening the sense of community, and to raising social awareness towards the sense of place of local communities, and the sense of belonging of the local people.
Dr. Supitcha has been supervising B.Arch. modules including Architectural Design for the 2nd year students, Community Architecture, Architectural Thesis for the 5th year students, and currently instructing MA. and Ph.D in Vernacular Architecture at Silpakorn University, focusing on urban vernacular wisdom and design, and participatory community development.
