PhD and Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering from the Centro de Investigación y de Estudios Avanzados (Cinvestav) of the Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN), Guadalajara campus. Bachelor's Degree in Electronic Engineering from the Instituto Tecnológico de Sonora. He has published numerous specialized articles in the fields of robotics, computer vision, automatic control, and real-time systems. He has worked on funded projects for the construction of a humanoid robot with the capacity to walk and interact with its surroundings.
He has been a research professor in the Department of Electronics, Systems and Informatics of the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Occidente (ITESO) since 2012. His lines of research include nonlinear robust control, vision-guided robotic systems and embedded control systems. He was admitted to the National Systems of Researchers (SNI) with candidate status in 2014.
