PhD in Telecommunications from the Télécom SudParis Institute in Evry, France. Master's Degree in Industrial Electronics and Bachelor's Degree in Electronic Engineering from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Occidente (ITESO). He did a post-doctoral in Telecommunications and Health at the Mines Télécom Institute, as well as a specialization in Digital Signal Processing at the University of Bremen in Germany. From 2004 to 2009 he was an evaluating member of the Council for the Accreditation of the Teaching of Engineering.
He began his career at ITESO as a professor in the areas of electronics, signals, systems and communications. From 1994 to 2002 he coordinated the Bachelor's Degree in Electronic Engineering, and from 2004 to 2008 he was the Head of the Department of Electronics, Systems and Informatics (DESI). He has been a representative on the Academic Council and the University Council on various occasions. He is currently a research professor in DESI.
His current line of research involves wireless sensor networks, Ultra Wideband (UWB) signals, distance estimation and indoor location tracking.

Node for Monitoring Environmental Quality within a Metropolitan Sensor Network. ITESO collaborators: Luis E. Pérez Bernal, Dr. Luis Rizo Domínguez and an undergraduate student.
Study of digital pre-distortion solutions in wide band modulation formats to achieve low-cost access to an optical network.
External collaborators: Dr. Stéphane Azou (National School of Engineers in Brest, France) and PhD student Julio César Ortiz.
Design and Optimization of Wireless Sensor Networks for the Internet of Things. ITESO collaborators: Luis E. Pérez Bernal, Dr. Luis Rizo Domínguez and an undergraduate student.
