PhD in Integrated Electronic Devices from the Institut National des Sciences Appliquées (INSA) of Lyon, France. Master's Degree in Science from the Centro de Investigación y de Estudios Avanzados (Cinvestav) of the Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN). Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). He has a specialization in Electronic Circuit Design from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Occidente (ITESO).
From 1998 to 2001 he did a research stay at the Départment de Recherche Fondamentale sur la Matière Condensée, Laboratoire de Physique des Semiconducteurs, Commissariat à l'Energie Atomique (DRFMC/ CEA), in Grenoble, France. He has been a leader and collaborator on several research projects funded by the National Science and Technology Council (CONACYT). From 2004 to 2010 he was a member of the National System of Researchers of CONACYT, level 1. From 2009 to 2011 he participated in the network of researchers that received undergraduate students for the Summer Program in Scientific and Technological Research of the Pacific, of the Mexican Academy of Science. He has been a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) since 2013. He is also a Basic Science project evaluator for CONACYT.
He has worked at ITESO since 2002. He has directed a number of dissertations at the undergraduate, master's degree, specialization and PhD levels. He has taught several courses on integrated analogue circuit design for the Master's Degree in Electronic Design and the Specialization in Integrated Circuit Design, as well as several basic analog electronics courses at the undergraduate level. From 2012 to 2013 he coordinated the Specialization in Integrated Circuit Design, and since 2013, he has coordinated the Specialization in System-on-chip Design.
