These are some frequently asked questions:

What is the admission process to get into ITESO?

You must fill out an online application; from the top menu click on Candidates -> Undergraduate programs -> Online application for candidates. Then, submit or send via e-mail the following documents to the Admissions Office: Birth certificate, proof of residence, and high school certificate or a transcript containing all your high school courses up to the fifth semester, and your overall average. Once you fill out the application and submit your documents, you will be given a file number to cover the cost of your admission exam. If you attend a high school that has an agreement with ITESO, and you do not have the required overall average to be granted an automatic pass, the cost of your admission exam will be lower. If you attend a high school that has this type of agreement with ITESO, and you have the required overall average, you will not need to take the admission exam. You can make your payment directly to the ITESO cashiers or at BBVA Bancomer (agreement CIE 80012, in the name of ITESO AC; the reference number is your file number). I took an admission exam at another university. Is it valid for ITESO?

If you took the College Board SAT exam less than a year and a half ago, we will recognize your score. When you apply to ITESO, make sure you add to the list of documents a letter indicating your exam score, issued by the university where you took the test, and cover the cost of the application process ($400 pesos). If you took an IBERO admission exam and you were admitted, include the acceptance letter issued by the university you applied to together with the rest of your documents.

I can't afford the university tuition fees. How do I apply for financial aid, in the form of a loan and/or scholarship?

ITESO offers financial aid on the basis of the results of a socioeconomic study.
 The financial aid granted by ITESO is a combination of short-term payments (tuition each semester), long-term loans (which you will start paying off when you graduate, at a very low interest rate) and institutional scholarships (for as long as you take to finish your degree provided you maintain the required overall average). You can fill out your financial aid application once you start the admission process and you are given a file number; you must also cover the cost of the socioeconomic study ($465 pesos). The minimum overall high school average required to apply for financial aid is 80. Can I take the admission exam in my home town?

ITESO applies admission exams in over 40 cities. Please contact us at admision@iteso.mx to receive the list of cities and exam dates; that way you don't have to come all the way to Guadalajara, although it would be a great opportunity to visit the campus.

What are the undergraduate tuition fees?

Send an e-mail to admision@iteso.mx to receive information about the semester tuition fees for the program you're interested in, the cost per credit, and English courses.

Do I have to take an English test to be admitted to ITESO?

ITESO does not require its incoming students to be fully proficient in English. However, you are required to take an English placement test before classes begin, so that you know where you would be placed in ITESO's eight-level English program. If you already have one of the following certificates, you can submit it to the Registrar's Office and in that way fulfill your Institutional English Requirement: 

First Certificate in English (FCE), with a score of A, B or C; IELTS with a band score of 5.5 or higher; IBT TOEFL with a score of 79 points or higher; or the Institutional ITP TOEFL applied at ITESO or another Jesuit institution with a score of 550 or higher. 

For any of these four certificates to be valid, it must be less than two years old when submitted to the Registrar's Office. 

If you do not submit any of these certificates, you will have to develop proficiency in English equivalent to the B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference before graduation. You can do this by taking ITESO's English Certification Program up to level 8, or you can learn English off campus. However, you are required to submit evidence of your progress at different times during your undergraduate studies; otherwise, certain restrictions will apply to your enrollment in curricular courses.
