Barbara Pollini is a sustainable designer, educator and researcher. Since 2010 she's dealing with sustainable design, with a master in Ecodesign and Eco-innovation and a MA in Computational Design. Since 2014 she has been investigating sustainable materials, focusing on the relationship between materials and design for sustainability from different perspectives (circular materials, biomaterials, made in waste materials). She started teaching ecodesign at Naba design University in Milan in 2013, holding courses on sustainable design and materials, with a practical focus on DIY-Materials, made in waste materials, life cycle design, circular design and design fiction for sustainability. She hold lectures and workshops on sustainable design, biomaterials, circular materials and future design issues. In 2019 she started a PhD in Design at the Polytechnic University of Milan, her doctoral research focuses on biodesign and biomaterials, an approach arising from the intersection between design, biology and technology, applying living matters to redefine key sustainable aspects for future productions.
