Certificate of International and Intercultural Competencies (CCII)
The Certificate in International and Intercultural Competencies (CCII) allows you to demonstrate, upon completion of your studies, that you possess the internationalization and intercultural skills necessary to work globally. Internationalization-related competencies are increasingly valuable in professional development. Applicable to any field of study, these are the professional tools and skills for interacting with people from different countries and cultures, enabling you to listen to and understand diverse perspectives and participate in broad dialogues for collaborative decision-making.
To obtain the CCII, you are required to participate in various international and intercultural activities that take place alongside your undergraduate studies. Each activity awards points.
The certificate is obtained with at least 20 points combined from curricular and extracurricular activities. The points awarded for each activity are shown below:

How can I participate in the CCII?
Students who wish to participate in the program must register on the Emplea ITESO platform and provide there the proofs of participation in the Global Curriculum and the extracurricular activities that give them points for certification, which is obtained once the necessary score is reached.
When can I start my application?
Throughout your academic career and up to one semester after graduation. However, the certificate is not issued until the end of the academic semester (the week after the last day of classes).
Which activities give me points?
Any subjects in the Global Curriculum and extracurricular activities that require significant engagement with other cultures.
How can I tell if the documentation I uploaded is correct?
Each month, the documentation of students who have made 75% progress in their CCII course is reviewed. If there is any error, they will be contacted to correct it; otherwise, everything is correct and the certificate will be delivered in the weeks following the end of the semester.
What else should I do if I've already uploaded all the documents and it says 75% complete?
This is normal; you have already completed the process on your end. Once the documentation is reviewed and the certificate is issued, your progress will be marked as 100%.
What is the difference between COIL and an online and asynchronous course with the participation of students from other universities?
COIL stands for Collaborative Online International Learning. COIL courses share some curriculum content with a university abroad, whether Spanish-speaking or English-speaking. Online and asynchronous courses with the participation of students from other universities are offered within the framework of Intercampus Virtual Ausjal. Both types of courses carry credits and are part of the Global Curriculum (GC).
What is the difference between the Certificate in International and Intercultural Competencies (CCII) and the Global Curriculum (CG)?
The Global Curriculum is the offering of curricular subjects with an international and/or intercultural focus. These are credit-bearing subjects. The Certificate in International and Intercultural Competencies is a way to recognize the skills a student has acquired through Global Curriculum courses and certain extracurricular activities.
What happens if I believe I have an activity that is not advertised on the site?
Don't worry, you can contact the Internationalization team, who will evaluate your activity and guide you on whether it can be taken into account for obtaining the certificate and, if so, how to accredit it.
