Environments for learning digital culture

Activities and processes involving professors and students, for the purpose of learning about network culture and making use of it for substantive work at ITESO.

The Networked Learning Center offers the university community five formal spaces for learning about digital culture.

"Taking Part in the Network"

Living in the knowledge age implies learning how to inhabit the network, which we understand as the intentional effort to converse, consume, and create together with others on network devices. We do this through small exercises with different network technologies that allow us to learn about certain activities. In each of these exercises it is important to ask what it means to inhabit the network, and to learn within a network.

"Weaving Online Learning Networks"

The Weaving Online Learning Networks workshop (TRAL, in its initials in Spanish) represents an experience of networked learning at a global level. Ideally, this workshop will enable you to integrate into your everyday life new ways of accessing relevant information, of imagining together with other colleagues possibilities for exploiting technology in your professional context, of understanding basic concepts of networks and communities, and of developing personal information management skills, all of which are fundamental for enhancing your academic networks.

"Designing Networked and Online Learning Situations"

In this course, professors learn about some of the experimental proposals for networked and online learning, and design and apply one of these proposals with their students. The proposal will be constructed together with other colleagues, and will allow participants to explore the design of situations for networked and distance learning.

"Designing Learning Environments in Alternative Educational Modalities"

This platform is intended to guide groups of professors in the design of a complete online course that they propose, with the help of the Networked Learning Center to facilitate its development, connections, frameworks and setups, as well as to recover and document the experiences to share with others. This process is currently linked to specific requests from academic areas.

"Teaching in Alternative Modalities"

The technological progress of recent years has reconfigured our society; our ways of interacting and learning have broadened, which means that the entire landscape on which teaching takes place has been transformed as well. This course was designed for you to orient and enrich your teaching practice in alternative educational modalities, by integrating strategies of moderation and mediation.
